Your support changes lives.

Thanks to the generous gifts of local donors at Salvation Army Red Kettles, online, and at The Kroc Center front desk, local individuals and families receive clothing, swim lessons, life skill classes, food, rent & utility assistance, and much more.

When you make any gift—money, time, or energy—to the Salem Kroc Center, you become a part of the largest project ever undertaken by The Salvation Army. Your gift becomes grounded in the reputation, trust and credibility of The Salvation Army—which is well known for its continuing efforts of providing relief to those in need.

The programs below currently need the most support to ensure their success. Any gift will make an impact in our community.

Helping the Community in 2020

The Kroc Scholarship Financial Assistance Program

Every life deserves to shine. No one in need is turned away from the life-changing opportunities at The Salvation Army Kroc Center through the Kroc Scholarship Program. With an average of 1,500 individuals on scholarship, this is by far The Kroc Center's largest outreach and single greatest need for community support.

Day Camps

What kids take home from this camp won't fit in a backpack. Kroc Day Camps provide everything a child needs to make great memories and learn that no matter what happens in life, they are cared for. Donations make it possible to send to camp the kids who couldn't otherwise afford it.

Become a volunteer today.

We have the perfect volunteer opportunity to meet your interests.

Volunteering is one of the most enjoyable things you'll ever do. Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling. Kroc volunteers are held to the same standards as our employees including application, background check, Child Safety training, and orientation.

  • Helping out with events like Toy and Joy
  • Assisting with Red Kettle
  • Serve on The Kroc's Advisory Board and Committees
  • Data Entry and More

The Kroc Center relies on more than its paid staff to meet the mission of Joan Kroc. Mrs. Kroc was clear in her intent: The Kroc Centers were to be places where children can learn from one another, individuals can seek personal growth and development, and a place for the community to gather in leisure and fellowship in an environment that embraces the love and acceptance that Jesus Christ teaches us. As a volunteer, you can help us make that dream a reality!
